Matthew Charles Sanders  (born July 31, 1981), better known by his stage name  M. Shadows , is the  lead vocalist ,  songwriter , and founding member for the American  heavy metal  band  Avenged Sevenfold . Shadows possesses the voice type of a high  baritone , and is well known for his distinctively gritty singing style as well as occasional screaming. Early life and musical beginnings Shadows began singing at an early age, but his interest in rock music grew as he became older and began to play the guitar. Shadows links this early musical experience with the piano as a major factor in developing his skills with the guitar and his voice. He attended  Huntington Beach High School , where he played for a brief stint in a  punk  band named "Successful Failure". Following this, Shadows formed Avenged Sevenfold in 1999 along with high school friends  Zacky Vengeance , Jimmy " The Rev " Sullivan, and Matt Wendt. Soon after, Sullivan's friend  Synyster Gat

James Alan Hetfield  (born August 3, 1963) is the  rhythm guitarist , co-founder, main  songwriter , and  lead vocalist  for the American  heavy metal band  Metallica . Hetfield co-founded Metallica in October 1981 after answering a classified advertisement by drummer  Lars Ulrich  in the Los Angeles newspaper  The Recycler , searching for band members. Since then, Metallica has won nine  Grammy Awards  and released nine studio albums, three live albums, four extended plays and 24 singles. In 2009, Hetfield was ranked number 8 in  Joel McIver 's book  The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists ,  and ranked twenty-fourth by  Hit Parader  on their list of the 100 Greatest Metal Vocalists of All Time.

Jennifer Carole "Jen" Ledger  (born 8 December 1989,  Coventry , England) is an English  drummer  and  backing vocalist  for the  Grammy Award -nominated  Christian rock / hard rock  band  Skillet . At the age of eighteen she became Skillet's drummer, when their former drummer Lori Peters  retired. Ledger relocated to the United States at age 16 to major in drums at Living Light School of Worship in  Kenosha, Wisconsin . She toured as Skillet's drummer on the "Comatose Tour". Ledger sang on the tracks "Hero" and "Awake and Alive", from the album  Awake . She also sang  back up  on "Monster" in the  remix EP .
